Make A Curve Tracer For Your Lab

This is the companion page for the YouTube series on the design and construction of a curve tracer, an instrument that can be very useful for analyzing the behavior of electronic components to be used in new projects, and also to help in the diagnostic of malfunctioning electronic devices.

This device allows us to visualize on an oscilloscope those same curve characteristics we normally see in the component’s data sheets. These are normally used during design to learn how to polarize a component. Or, when repairing a malfunctioning device, they can be used as a diagnostic tool to see if a component still works according to its specifications. In such a case, most of the time it is possible to do so on the circuit itself, without removing the component from it.

The following is a list of all the companion YouTube videos, along with the archive containing all the documentation you need to make your own device until the point that video is made available.

Happy experiments !
